Classical Education for a Brighter Future
Our mission is to cultivate within students a lifelong pursuit of academic excellence, virtuous living, and civic responsibility through a classical, content-rich education in the liberal arts and sciences.
Project Status
In August 2024 NCAE was granted their charter from the State Public Charter School Authority (SPCSA) and we are working with SPCSA to complete the pre-opening steps. Our building, located at 1031 Railroad Street, Suite 107, is being cleaned and updated with fresh paint and flooring. On October10th our Founding Board intentionally transitioned to a Governing Board, and monthly board meetings will begin in November. Board meeting dates and agenda will be available here, under the “Board” tab.
Our Goal
Nevada Classical Academy Elko (NCAE) plans to open school in August 2025 for grades Kindergarten - 3rd Grade. Continue to check back for updates.
What is Classical Education?
Classical education in the liberal arts and sciences is a framework of effective and innovative teaching methods to foster high-quality education and improve academic achievement. It is experiencing a resurgence across the country and is the preferred choice by a growing number of homeschool communities, micro-school pods, private schools, and public charter schools. The purpose of a classical education is to develop wisdom and virtue within students so they become lifelong learners capable of mastering subjects with the tools they have acquired, and also active citizens engaged in building, sustaining, and transforming the social fabric of their communities.
